A new independent Chair, Richard Anderson, has been appointed to the Cheque and Credit Clearing Company’s Board. Richard was appointed on Tuesday 16 October 2018, and replaces Jane Bevis, who has stepped down for health reasons after more than three years in the role.

Richard is a past chairman of the Institute of Risk Management and was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand, subsequently PwC, where he led the Strategic Risk Services Group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Richard has also worked for a variety of risk practices, including setting up AndersonRisk and he sits on the Board of Pay.UK as an independent non-executive director.

Regarding his appointment, Richard Anderson said:

“I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of the C&CCC Board and would like to thank Jane for her leadership over the past few years. With the industry in the process of delivering faster clearing times via the new, image-based process it is an exciting time to take up this position. Cheque imaging, with the benefits it brings to all cheque users – whether individual customer, business or charity – will firmly bring this valued payment method into the digital world of the 21st century.”
