The Cheque and Credit Clearing Company (C&CCC), which supports the paper clearing system for cheques and credits as well as the Image Clearing System, has appointed Tim Everest as its new General Manager.
Tim joined the C&CCC in October with a wealth of payments industry knowledge, most recently having been Chief Operating Officer of the CHAPS payment scheme within the Bank of England, processing c£360bn per day. Prior to this Tim was Chief Operating Officer for CHAPS Co where he led day-to-day systemic risk management and operations of the payment scheme. Tim has held numerous other enterprise-wide roles delivering technology, operations, integration and transformation in major banks including Lloyds Banking Group.
Tim Everest, General Manager of the Cheque and Credit Clearing Company, said:
“I am delighted to take on the role of General Manager of the C&CCC. Cheques remain a highly-used financial instrument by many segments of society and complement others such as Faster Payments and Bacs as we bring all of these together within Pay.UK. With the introduction of the Image Clearing System bringing cheques into the 21st century this is an exciting time for this much-valued payment method and I look forward to being part of it.”
