I have been asked to issue a duplicate cheque. What should I do?
First, check with your bank to ensure the cheque you issued has not already been paid. If you're happy that the cheque has not already been paid you should place a stop on the original cheque and, if you wish, issue another cheque which the beneficiary will then pay in. You may, of course, prefer to make payment by other means.
